Basics of Mixology:
Course at Chesapeake College Cambridge Center
Chesapeake College and Blue Ruin have collaborated to bring Maryland a series of enrichment courses to introduce community members to the Basics of Mixology. This curriculum can be utilized to enhance a skill, build upon a knowledge base, and as a crash course for restaurant employees looking to improve their professional abilities and knowledge. This four week course will teach you the uses of barware, proper glassware and etiquette, how to make both classic and unique seasonal cocktails, and how to identify different types of liquor, wine, and beer, all for only $40!
Paul Dendorfer, head mixologist at Blue Ruin, will lead this class with the knowledge and passion provided by over two decades in the industry. He has helped define the restaurant and bar culture of Cambridge, Maryland for the last 8 years which has culminated in the creation of Blue Ruin, a cocktail bar and restaurant with over 150 craft cocktails and the acquisition of property for Horse Head Distilling, an up and coming venture that will focus on small batch craft spirits and bitters. Learn from one of the best mixologists in Maryland at Chesapeake College Cambridge Center at 418 Race Street.
Four sessions are currently scheduled for the months of September, October, November, and January. Blue Ruin will also offer the opportunity for students of Basics of Mixology to guest-bartend at a family and friends event held at the bar at 400 Race Street on completion of the class. To register and access additional information for this course, use the keyword “Mixology” at the following link: https://sserv.chesapeake.edu/Student/InstantEnrollment.
